Anyone shoot this in .223 55grain VMax? If so, opinions? Looking for a range round with better performance than a standard FMJ range fodder. Thanks.
Thank you sir, appreciate it.I'd say it's good to go. I actually know a guy that knows the owner and recommended the ammo to me. I just went through 200 rounds of that vmax stuff and it was MOA or better for me.
I ordered 50 rounds just to give it a try. I do know that the 55 grain Hornady VMax varmint rounds are very accurate and precise out of my 110. Hopefully these will be as well.Just to qualify my above statement, I was only using a 6x scope so at 100 I had to take my time to get the results I got. I sighted my scope at 50 yards and at that distance I easily hit six 1/2" posters in succession to confirm zero. All six shots were on the small target and did not break the line. I did not have the opportunity to confirm beyond 100.
I am also considering the similar offerings LAX/Freedom Munitions. I still need to do a bit more research before ordering. Heard a couple of horror stories and trying to verify.
Update: Black Dot Ammunition states that their remanufactured .223 55grain VMax round is sub-MOA capable. Certainly can confirm that! Sub-MOA groups out of my Savage 110 at 100 yards. Appears to be good quality ammunition at remanufactured prices.I ordered 50 rounds just to give it a try.
