Blued guns, light-colored grips. Let's see what you've got!

Here are a couple of mine

This is the lightest color set of grip panels I have on a handgun.

S&W 25-15 factory grips.

I did come across about 8 board feet of Ivorywood in the 2000 lbs of random wood i bought about 2 months ago. It should make some beautiful grips. Also found some aspen, curly maple, and willow in there.

Not all that pretty, kinda worn down in places (like me )
But, thread appropriate.

I was a little shocked at how much the wood varied on Blackhawks. Of course, there is 50 years of manufacturing present, every wood will take stain / finish different and the color of the stain could have varied.

I prefer wood stocks, regardless of coloring.

Ruger is notorious (in my book anyways) for terrible stain and finish. The revolvers arent too bad but the rifles have a junk masking stain on them. It hides all the figure. I stripped down an old walnut 10/22 stock and oiled it. What a beautifully figured piece of walnut! Shame it was hidden for 40 or 50 years.

Like everything, ruger has cheapened out on the wood: the newer the blander.

A couple of mine

My security six has the lightest colored grips of any revolvers that I own, but it's stainless. Now my autoloaders are another story.

Well if we're posting autos too then for me, this Citation has the nicest stocks I've ever found on a High Standard, or anything else for that matter.

I think white or ivory colored grips look great on a blued (or stainless steel/nickel plated) gun:





If you can make an exception to allow some of the semi-auto brethren to participate, then I have a few more to add:

Besides of that I prefer dark, nicely grained walnut.

How could I forget about this guy? My 1911 old friend.

Will sterling silver fit the request?



The lightest colored wood grips I have are on my .41 Blackhawk and my .22 caliber Dan Wesson.



The others all wear darker wood or synthetics. I don’t have any with pearl, ivory, bone or antler… but I’m not opposed to buying some if I see ones I like .

Got a lot of guns . . . but not much that I can say really fits this description. I prefer darker wood grips myself.

Off the top of my head, the grips on the early 3” Manurhin MR73 Police / Défense in this photo are probably the lightest of any blued gun I own.

I normally default to "white" grips on "white" guns and darker grips on blued guns but ivory and stag look good on anything.





Ironically, the two stag gripped guns in this pic have gone off to become .44Spl's and only one will return with "white" grips.
