Sportsman's Warehouse in Mesa had #11s, and I got one tin of 100...all that dude would let me have. But $5.99 is pretty good since the LAST time I bought them was $25 a 100 at Legendary Guns.

not all sportsman are the same. Some have limits and some don’t. this one had limits on primers but the cap (people) was on the shelves. So I took the whole shelve. lol

so here my tip, check the BP section in the back of the back of the store 1st. If caps are sitting there, take what you want and run for the counter.

to be fare, out of 20+ trips on component hunt. I have only been successful 4 times

I say put a musket cap nipple on everything that can run a musket cap nipple. Musket caps are a lot easier to handle and not lose.
If I find #11’s I’ll buy more!

2021 taught me, Stack um deep!

these are the ones they had… didn’t know what they were so I didn’t buy

Those aren't any good. They're weak musket caps for reenactors.
I can't use them for my Pedersoli 1861 Springfield but they work great on my Traditions Hawkin rifle with an adapter nipple instead of using the #11 caps.

Maybe the adaptor has a bigger flash hole? CCI reduced the charges in their 4 wing caps in 2010 or thereabouts because reenactors complained about caps fragging. if you can find some of the old 6 wing caps they're good to go.

I got a thousand #11's from the SW in Spokane a couple weeks ago also. Good pricing. When they have primers, which isn't often, they're priced similarly. Don't know if it's true but one of the employees told me they're selling them around cost, the primers that is.

I got 200 of them, good for a long time. Dislike those hazmat fees
Well, one way or another, we all pay them whether through the retailer or direct to a wholesaler like Grafs. Walmart of course has the advantage of selling a bazillion of everything including caps so our part of the fee is minimized but it’s there. Besides, I’ve done a few projects for the Walton kids and grandkids, (the family own properties in Eagle, Garfield and Pitkin counties.) and if I have any other options even substantially more expensive options I will spend money anywhere but there. Those acorns fell a long way from the tree…

One of my counter salesmen Ubers on weekends and during ski season. He’s made very good money with that. $500 for a trip from DIA to Vail…
