Not new to hand loading, just new to 10mm, I didn't have to buy new dies since I've been loading for .40 S&W. That being said, I have acquired a new SIG X-TEN 10mm that I absolutely adore...I'd like to achieve 1300 fps with the 200 gr hard cast projectiles I acquired from Montana Bullet Works... If Buffalo Bore can push a 220 gr hard cast to 1,200 fps, I believe I can get 1,300 out of 200 gr. So far, I've begun with the starting charge using every powder I mention below. I've worked up, shooting volleys of 3 at incremental charge increases over the chronograph. I'm at max charges in both my new and updated Hornady and Lyman manuals as well as the powder websites I'm using. I'm seeing ZERO signs of over pressure. No flattened primers, no bulged cases, nothing. What I'm asking is IF you have safely achieved what I am trying to do out of a 5" bbl, please share your data. The only powder I have not tried so far is AA#9. As soon as I can get some, I will try some loads with it. Another thing to note, I'm having to use a shorter COL so these reliably feed through the magazine. This should increase pressure but I have not seen any signs..I've included a photo of some recovered lead, these projectiles from Montana Bullet Works have a BHN 22 rating, that is super hard. Very impressive. Very little leading in the bbl...
