Weaver K2.5-1 centerfire ok?

It is a centerfire scope, from the days when a 2.5-3X was for "woods hunting", a 4X general purpose, and a 6X for "plains hunting." Maybe an 8 or 10X for varmint hunting. We still have posts telling us that 10X is ample for Long Range shooting because it has been used for wartime sniping.
 
I have that scope and a couple of other old Weavers, bought in the day by my dad. You mean like this, on a Weaver rail with Weaver steel rings:

Thanks for the replies guys. I'm going to leave it on the 22 for the time being but nice to know I can swap it if needs be on a deer gun if I wanted. I think I asked this same question here like 10 years ago lol but I couldn't remember.
