Cleaning house on some old nasty cases and looking for something new. I’m looking for something that can hold a scoped bolt action rifle with a bipod on it. A little storage is a plus. Undecided on one or two gun at this point. I figured if I go shooting I can bring a .22 along for cool down time plinking. I don’t have a lot of choices around here and will probably have to order online. The tactical cases I’ve seen have hook and loop features to secure the gun that looks useful, just don’t know about quality. Any advice? Thanks!

I found several inexpensive soft cases at Walmart that were pretty good for the money. These cases included a sling and a side pocket too.

I have a couple of different ones that I like. One is a Snipers Drag Bag made for Midway. It has a divider inside so it can carry 2 rifles, several storage pockets and lots of "tactical cool" snaps, buckles, ect! It also has enough padding that can strap it onto the rack on a 4 wheeler and not worry.

The other, also ordered from Midway, was from Boyt. Its a quality case. Heavy duty zipper, well padded and plenty of room for a varmint rifle with a large scope. Im not sure if a bipod will fit but I think it will?

Soft cases I've been happy with the Midway branded cases. For scoped bolt rifles I generally use a hard sided case.

Thank for the info! I looked a Midway and do like what I see. Probably ordering one up soon. Thanks again!

I have several of the midway cases and buldawg brand hard to tell them apart. if you put a 20 round ar mag in the pockets it can be hard to get them out. pockets are sized for 30 round ar mags.

I have Boyt and Midway cases and have been happy with both. I don’t believe either would hold a scoped rifle with bipod attached. I carry my bipod separately and secure to the rifle when I’m ready to shoot.

A standard/tradition style case won't fit a scoped rifle with a bipod mounted. The tactical (AR rifle) cases definitely will fit a scoped rifle with a bipod. Plus the tactical style cases will give the OP the pouches he wants.

I've found Savior Equipment bags to be pretty amazing for the money, maybe for twice the money. Just the basic AR case w/mag pockets is under $30 shipped and holds its own against anything I've found locally for a hundred. I've got four of their bags and all have held up pretty well (although one I just bought last month for a new PWS carbine I just got so obviously no long term report yet).

I just checked them out, looks very promising. Lots of good reviews and nice features. I wanted to order from Midway but everything I was interested in was sold out. Looks like the Savior stuff is in stock.

I miss Waller they made some high-quality bags with lots of well thought-out details.
They were elegant, and had smooth exteriors that did not have "Look At Me!" pockets and pouches all over them.
Sadly, cheap products out of SEA put them out of business.
Sometimes, a person willing to go hunting the right sorts of shops can find a bass guitar soft case that cam be adapted to the role.

You’re spot on with many cases having a lot of crap on them. The one I picked up is more tactical than I’d like but will serve its purpose. It has backpack type straps that need to go asap but I do like the storage.

All of my rifles are "black guns" of kind or another so I do appreciate mag pouches. It's nice to have a pocket large enough for electronic earpro & shooting glasses, too, just to minimize the number of things I need to grab on the way out the door.
