Any info on these?

Quality stuff?

I have a Serbu that I just got that I like, but I'm considering buying another .50 before the years end....

How much would it cost to complete the rifle?

I'm also debating between getting a Ferret or a Serbu. However after doing some research I found out that the finished Ferret rifle at the cheapest price is $2400, while the Serbu is $2195. So the Serbu costs more up front for a reciever ($1000), but is cheaper for the finished rifle.

From what I've read, both are supposed to be very fine rifles.

Will receiver be transferable?

If I buy a receiver and register it, and decide not to finish the rifle, can it be sold in-state, or am I stuck with it?

I'm not sure about the exact wording about transfers, there was supposedly something in AB50 about people still being able to get .50's. I'll have to read back through it but it basically said you'll have to get approval or jump through some hoops.... You could always just sell it to someone out of state.

If your buying Daves lower and upper together it will cost more then just buying an upper and slapping it on a lower you already have. Plus if you want different options it will also push the price up.

I'm pretty sure that, because .50 BMG's will become "assault weapons" under the new law, that you will only be able to sell it out of state; you will NOT be able to sell, loan, transfer, or otherwise give your .50 to ANYONE else in CA.

I think that, technically, you cannot even will "assault weapons" to your heirs in CA, but I could be wrong....
