Any 3" revolvers in .44 spc weighing in the 20-29oz range?

Hey everybody

I have concluded that 3" revolvers that weigh between 20-29oz are my jam, and have started building my collection to focus around them.

It has been easy to find most catridges in that package(.22s,.32s,380,38spc/357, 9mm) but I am struggling a little to find some in .44 spc.

Does anyone know if there are any .44 spc only revolvers that meet those requirements that I should be keeping an eye out for?

Didn't S&W used to make an Airweight 44 snubby, I seem to remember an old timmer used to bring one to the range just to impress people or watch them hurt themselves.

My stainless Taurus 431 might make weight.
3 ounces over weight, but I looked it up and it is pretty. If I have to compromise on any of the parameters going heavier would be it.

My 1970s era Charter Arms Bulldog in .44 Special weighs in around 21oz.
I am a bit envious to be honest. So far it's looking like a modern CA .44 spc Bulldog Classic is going to be the best candidate, but they are out of stock everywhere online and I live in a brick and mortar desert.

The Rossi 720 also meets spec and is on the heavier side of it at 27oz but I can't even imagine how hard one of those would be to find.

Around 1985, Lew Horton contracted with S$W for 5000 3” N-frame M624 44 Special revolvers.

They are probably heavier than your target weight but another 3” 44 Special revolver to look for.

I doubt you'll find any modern production offerings in 44 spc only outside of Charter Arms, but Charter Arms of today doesn't have much of a representation for putting out a reliable product.

You might luck into a Rossi 720. I got one of mine in a small pawn shop where "Rossi" just meant "cheap" to them. My DA/SA has been unreliable due to poor treatment by a previous owner. The DAO is okay. They're really fun to shoot.

The Taurus... is it 431 and 441? They have a good reputation. There was also a Model 44 that I owned at one time. I think it's from the 2000's or something and the other models are from "the golden age of Taurus".

The Bulldog isn't a target pistol, but it's nice for CC.

You might try a Smith & Wesson 296 Airlite. Never weighed one, but supposedly 18.9 oz. However, only a 2" barrel, so it doesn't quite fit your specifications.
