My favorites from WWII were the Me-109 and the P-38 Lightning.Modern aircraft include the F-104 Starfighter and the SR-71.Awesome planes all.

Favorite prop: toss-up between elliptical-wing Spitfire, P-51D (love that bubble-canopy), P-38 (they didn't call it the "fork-tailed devil" for nothing)

Favorite jet: either F-86 Saber or A4

I could never give ONE favorite

Sopwith Tripe
F4 Corsair
Hurricane
Bearcat
A1 Skyraider
F4 Phantom
A4 Skyhawk
OV10 Bronco
C130
AH1
A10
F20 Tigershark (should have beaten out the F16!)

P-38, new a flight instructor who taught the pilots in WWII, or the XB-70-who wasted ALOT of ruskie $$, or the SR-71- viewed up close and personal at Warner Robbins, or the B-47, or the ............, oh yeah, being a biz jet mechanic and having worked for Gulfstream for 14 years I'd like to comment on the GV. Top of the line classy.

Well, I guess I gotta say P-3 Orion... With 7700 hours in them all over the world , I've cussed em, kicked em, but they always brought us home! :D

Here's a couple more, unfortunately these two were the losers in their competitions.

haha you guys that say P3s, God luv ya! :D

I say the P3 as well, my hunny flies 'em. And I can't let the B2 slide, my uncle flew them and he's now retired and still gets to play with 'em.

Can't argue too hard on any choices offered so far, they's all pretty.

One bene(?) of living in the DC area is that I'm half way between the Air & Space Museum downtown and the new A&S Annex out by Dulles, and the Garver Retoration Facility in Silver Hill is only a half hour around the Beltway, so I can go see many of them beauties in the flesh, er, aluminum :D. Whenever we have out-of-town visitors, it isn't too hard to talk me into a trip to one of them. There's also air shows at Andrews AFB and Pax River NAS every year, so we can go see 'em fly, too (especially enjoy the Warbirds).

I'd trade vital body parts for a ride in an F-14/15/16/18 with either a full power take off or a cat launch

have to agree with a previous poster...

I could never give ONE favorite!!!

sheesh no way i could narrow it to one
here goes,

P-51 mustang
F-82 twin mustang
P-61 Black widow (first designed from ground up night fighter)
F-105 thunderchief
F-106 Delta Dart (father was an electronics tech on these, first jet i ever knew any detail about.)
B-58 Hustler
B-29
for sheer "different factor" F7F tigercat

and if i DID have to pick a true fave.
the "flying dumptruck" the AD-1/A-1 Skyraider

1- F4U Corsair wasp radial engine w/ water injection system :D
2- MK 5 Spitfire -Must go read Dave Dawson Flt LT again
3- Fock Wulf 190
4- ME-110
5- B17g
6- Grumman Hellcat
7- SBD

F14 Tomcat
F-18 Hornet Loved seeing them in GW #1 taking off overloaded w/ the hard points maxed out and then seeing them come home empty!
P-3C- nothing like directing them in on your target and getting to see the Torp run! Always hated the fact that they would be home for steak and beer when I was still floating around!

f6f hellcat..p47 thunderbolt..b17 fortress..f100 super sabre..f8 crusader..a6 skyhawk..a1 skyraider..f14 tomcat..a10 thunderbolt2.

Right there with you. Over 5000 in P3A/B/C's and another 1k in (now don't laugh) C1A's and another 1K+ (now stop laughing) in C2A's. Stop the laughing, at least we brought the mail.

Here is where I sat....right in the middle so I could keep an eye on everything, plus it had the best view in the house.
