well the cali commie cukoo politopolzi (CCCP) allowed me to pick up my new sig today ...
must admit that sig has come a long way from the browning BDA days of the 1970s ...
i wonder what JMB would think of the gun that replaced the 1911 (at least in my case) ?
i may just break down and get a 220 to go with it ...
points nice , slick trigger , 8+1 , decent grips (finally),handles well for me , no work needed on extractor ,:neener:, no link or bushing fit to worry about ,:neener: , no bleeping gripsafety, :neener: , it doesn't say 'cult' on the slide, :neener: ... i think it will do what i want it to do...
(oh yeah , the new finish is rustproof... :p )

What did they do with the grip? I heard that was always the big drawback with the 245 (if the only one).

they now come with 8 rnd mags and gripframe extensions...

works real well so far ...

I've always liked the idea of the P245, but doesn't the grip extension defeat the purpose?

In any case, I'm glad you like it. I, on the other-hand, just jumped in the boat you bailed out of with Dan Wesson 1911.:D

its like this ...

it gives me 2 guns in one, a commander sized auto with 8+1 or a compact with 6 +1...
it is a little thicker than the 1911 but not enough to prevent me from carrying it ...
