Does anyone know if it’s possible to buy police 11-87 or 870 shoties? If so, is it hard to find them (a specific model) and where can I get some prices of them? The first on my list is the 11-87 Synthetic 18” (2 Shot Ext) Rifle sights park finished # 9861. The second on my list would be the 870 Max or 870 Speedfeed Synthetic 18” (2 Shot Ext) Rifle sights Park finished # 4421. If all else fails a mossy 590 8 shot is going to be under my bed.

You can buy Remington Police guns.

It's a little difficult because Remington only sells through Remington factory authorized LAW ENFORCEMENT distributors.

Since most dealers buy from Remington COMMERCIAL Factory authorized distributors, many local dealers have to make a special order.

Some local dealers just don't want to go to the trouble, OR they try to "scalp" prices.

Here's some online sources, so you can at least get a ball park price before approaching a local FFL dealer:

The Remington 870P Police gun is the Cadillac of pump shotguns.

Thought I'd bump this to the top to see if anyone else has any online sources or input about the prices.

my 1187P had the single bead and I was asking $600, they're not hard to find if you look in the right spots

I can get Remington police models from my distributor. E-mail me a model number and I will give you a price. I don't slap a huge mark-up on these. Seriously, check other online prices and then give me a try.

For example, California Police Supply has the 870P Max online for $899, Impact Guns for $836. I can do these for roughly $100 less than impact guns for High Road members (distributor sale ends 2-15).

I also take Visa/MC.

I just purchased an 11-87 Police last week. It cost $750 (before taxes and background check). Mine has the rifle sights, parkerized finish, 18 1/2" barrel, and 7 round capacity (6+1). I went in yesterday and the owner said he wanted to get another one, but could not find one. Apparently, some local police were interested in that one too. Too bad for them, it was there for 6+ months at least.

Hi All-

I've got an upgraded Remington 870 Police Magnum and feel it could be improved with the combination of a pistol-grip stock. These firearms are definitely out there when you look for them. Does anyone know where this stock can be obtained?

Ideally, a shorter length of pull (say 13" or so) would make the firearm a bit quicker to shoulder. Cool thread.

Hi Zrex-

Thanks for the Brownell's link you provided. Here is the adjustable Knoxx Industries stock suggested by marklbucla above. My current stock 13.00" but still feels a tad too long for me...it catches on my shoulder each time. Thanks for the two potential solutions.

RW17, the short answer is yes.

You may pay a few more bucks for them than LEOs, but they're available to the public.

But IMO, they're worth the extra bucks. You'll find, for example, several THR threads dealing with the difference between 870P & express. (search the archives).

As for availability, my local store here in OR could have gotten me most 870P's, but not the one I wanted.

I found it for a good price (even with FFL) from Territorial Supply in Idaho.

Very friendly folks, quite helpful, patient and efficient. I recommend giving them a look.

Good luck.

Those are very good prices. If you check the Remington LE site, you will see that Territorial Supply is actually the Idaho Remington LE Wholesaler. If you click on the individual models, you will see Individual Officer Pricing. That is pretty much what dealers pay for these. So, if these guys will sell them to non LEO types for that price, I don't think you will find any better price.
