Anyone have any experience with grips by EagleGrips? I just got another revolver, a Ruger Security Six and I would like to get some real nice wood grooved grips for it. If anyone has any other good links let me know. Thanks.

I have a pair of Eagle grips...

I bought a pair of eagle "secret service" boot grips (checkered) for a K frame (S&W 696). I really like them a lot. they are well fitted to my gun (the wood mates very nicely with the frame of the revolver), they are very comfortable to handle, and they also do not interfere with the use of speed loaders. I like they way the grips feel in my hand. They fill my hand and let me get a decent grip, but they do not get in the way with unloading or unloading the gun.

I bought another pair of boot grips from a different vendor, and although they are comfortable and fit my hand well, they actually get in the way of the use of speed loaders (for my Ruger sp101).

Based on my limited experience (I have only purchased one set of Eagle grips so far) I would recommend Eagle highly. The fellow who took my order on the phone was also really friendly, and the grips were delivered quickly and came packed in a little felt bag with a drawstring.

Very cool. I think I will probably order a pair. I don't really like the feel of the rubber Pachymar grips that I bought. I was also thinking of getting the hammer bobbed. Can I do it myself? I have a Dremel.:D

I had bad luck with the set I bought. They were for a small frame taurus but when I installed them on my 85 they left a gap where they should touched in the front of the grip. On a some what related note, apparently the Taurus 94 is shaped a littled differently than the other small frames because I could not get the Eagle grips on at all.

I have 2 sets, both are the Secret Service line. My K frame grips are checkered, the J frame smooth. They are both just fine. Neither interfere with a speedloader, and they are about as minimal as I'd want to go. I can get all three fingers on my K frame if I grip the gun high and squeeze my fingers tightly together; its more a two finger design hold, and I wrap the pinky around to come under the grip. The J frame is a two finger only propositon. They do have a distinctive swell at the palm that I don't notice on other stocks that makes it fill the hand as fully as possible, giving one maximum hand to gun contact, while retaining compactness and concealability.

I am not going to order them online, I will call them to make sure that they understand what model I have. Hey, if they don't fit I will just send them back. Thanks for the input, it's much appreciated. :D

I put a set of Eagle Heritages on my 586 no dash and a 27 3.5.
These are similar to the old S&W Coke Bottle design.
I called Eagle and asked for the nicest grain they had in stock at the time and they came through for me. The fit perfectly with very nice grain patterns.
I would recommend them.

On my Detective Special, the Secret Service grips from Eagle required some sanding before they would let all cartridges eject. The case closest to the frame would sometimes hit the wood in such a way as to prevent it from popping out of the cylinder.

Positively, I'll say that the ebony wood and the checkering is very nice.

i've had/have two sets of eagle secret service grips. one for a ruger sp 101, and the other for a j frame smith. unfortunately, both of them were not properly fitted during manufacturing. but, they are nice looking.

My experience with Eagles have been mixed.

Currently have a two pair of really nice boot grips (J frame and K frame).

However, returned 3 different grips for a SP101, before I finally gave up and received a refund directly from Eagle. All of the SP 101s were ill fitted. The one set I actually fire the gun with, cracked under recoil after 7 rounds.
