I was digging around Eagle's website looking for smaller stocks for my Ruger Alaskan. I noticed they have the Secret Service Grips. Has anyone used these with either gun? Was felt recoil increased with these stocks over the standard ones? I can see this on the Alaskan with the Hogue Decelerator grips, but what about the regular rubber grips on the GP100?

Any experiences with these stocks would be appreciated.

My GP100 as pictured below has the Eagle Secret Service grips installed on it-as pictured below. I have only tried these grips shooting .38 Special rounds-so I cannot comment on how they would feel shooting .357's?:

Beautiful! Your blue GP100 looks a lot like my low back framed Security Six. The kind of straight looking back strap on those Secret Service grips look like about the same curve (or lack of a distinct curve) as the early SS.

So, how do those grips work with .38 Special ammo in your gun?
Are they as concealable as they look?
Did you put them on there to make a service gun you could carry?

Thanks.

The grips work good with the .38's for me. I put the Eagle Secret Service grips on my GP100 because I liked their looks and because they were not bulky and, because I like solid wood grips. No, although I don't carry this revolver I just wanted to spruce this gun up a bit and to make it look different and more appealing. Yes, the half lug barrel combined with these compact Eagle Secret Service grips makes this GP100 look and feel alot like a Security-Six-which I'm very fond of and weighs nearly the same. Following is another picture of the back of the Eagle grips to give you a better idea of how compact they are:

I bought Secret service grips for my J frame and I didn't like them. They just didn't feel right to me and did nothing to reduce the felt recoil. They look great but they are not for me.

I do however like Badger Custom Grips. They feel much better in my hand than the Eagle Grips. I'm not bashing Eagle Grips, I'm only saying they aren't right for me.

Yes, I have some Badger grips on my J-frame M63 .22LR revolver and I really like them on this gun!

I talked to Badger and they do make boot grips for the Alaskan in black.

They're on the list! Thanks for the help!

Please keep the photos and reviews coming since they will help others find good grips for their Rugers.
