How much light does something like an EOtech, Aimpoint, PKAS or a Kobra throw out in night vision? I have trouble seeing any light when I look through the wrong end of my PKAS, but a good night vision system has better light sensing ability than me. Would using such a system be a huge liability if your adversaries have night vision? How do modern militaries solve this problem? Mound night vision optics on all their weapons?

Glass optics are opaque to most longwave IR, so the image intensifiers and true thermas sensors won't pick up much at all. As far as I know, at any kind of distance, it is not a factor. Starlight glings off your nose (literally) more.

Caption below that picture says: "During a night shoot, shooters are visible only by their cylume chamber flags."

...scroll about halfway down and youll see a picture of night vision illuminated rectile scopes with night vision equipment...
