I'm of the opposite opinion about displaying. I think the major reason we've lost so many rights is that so many people aren't exposed to the fact that guns are part of our culture. If a mature, reasonable senior manager with a normal family and normal life owns firearms and not just the small % of whack jobs that is shown by the media in the rare instances that they do something stupid, maybe the population as a whole will see through some of the propaganda.

I guess I'd rather run the risk of a few of my guns being targeted to be stolen than risk ALL of the guns continue to be targeted by the other "bad guys" that don't respect the consitution.

I'll not hide the fact that I'm pro-American and pro-gun. Just my two mite.

the triangle thing with the hands

It's been said on these forums that it's the hobo symbol for Gun Owner. Like they'll scratch it on a tree by the house so other vagrants can see what's up with the family living there.

I never much worried about this issue.

You think everybody wearing a shirt which says 'FBI' in block letters at the grocery store actually works there?

Is everybody wearing a 'Farm Bureau' cap a farmer (well, probably) :)

I love to wear logo shirts. Some say 'Glock', 'Beretta', etc (and I don't even own a Beretta!). Some are Disney shirts, you name it.

I think we are overly sensitive to the issue because we may be concerned about concealment or attracting attention. But the truth is nobody cares what your shirt says.

Cheers,
ChickenHawk

Very well said. For too long, gun owners have allowed the grabbers to define public perception about guns. Too many of us hide, for many reasons. Political ground is not won by hiding. If we continue to keep quiet, our guns will be silenced forever. Blacks didn't change society by quiet determination, gays didn't advance their rights by griping to one another on internet boards, and gun owners won't win back lost freedoms by remaining a silent majority. When we hide our status as gun owners, we are allowing the anti-gun crowd to control what people are exposed to. The average American fears what he doesn't know.

At any rate, houses in my area are more likely to own a firearm than not, so the odds are weighted for someone looking to score a weapon. Though, we don't have many thieves, due to the likelyhood of them being shot.

ArchDuke,

Does it strike you as odd that you are asking people you've never seen before for fashion tips?
