So what you are saying is that anyone ignorant of a given topic that believes the words of an authority figure who speaks as an expert on the topic (correctly or not) makes the ignorant people sheep? If you scan this forum and others, you will find so-called non-sheep that believe equally ignorant things just because some authority figure told them it was true, because they overheard it from a stranger in a gun shop, or because they read it in an article in a gun rag.
No I don't think all people who listen to supposed authority figures are sheep, but I DO mean that sheep listen to people who are supposed to be authority figures. There is a difference, and I apologize for not being clear on that.
It is sort of funny. You are upset that the officer did not inform the readership of the newspaper that the SKS is a second tier rifle. You may consider it a second tier rifle, but it is still a rifle, still very lethal if used properly, and you will find that many of your fellow THR people consider SKS rifles some of the best value genre of guns you can find...
http://www.thehighroad.org/showthrea...ht=sks+quality
and if you search on your own, you will find that there are a lot of folks who hunt with SKS rifles.
And none of them will claim the SKS is a top-of-the-line rifle. I own two of them, and they're fun rifles. But this article claims they are ultimate weapons of doom. Everyone here understands that ALL firearms can be lethal. However, this officer makes the SKS look like it fires Hellfire missles or something. Guess
that isn't a problem for you, since you seem to have missed the entire point of the original post
FYI, you seem to believe that the second tier SKS now is allowed to be sold because of the sunsetted AWB. That must make you a sheep. The SKS was not considered an assault weapon by the now sunset federal law. They were legal to sell during the ban as a plain old surplus rifle, like Garands were.
Uhhhh no. Please re-read this:
and that even the sunsetted AWB allowed them to be sold legally, meaning they were LEGAL
during the AWB. But hey, I guess you're just to busy acting high and mighty to bother reading

Somebody asked about crime and SKS. Remember Chai Soua Vang who killed 6 other hunters with one in WI in 2005?
Actually, it was a Siaga.

However, the SKS
has been used by gangbangers. Check this out:

While it refers to the SKS as a "deadly SKS assault rifle", it does show it being used effectively. The story itself is about gang members in the military, and using military training, but that's sort of irrelevant to this thread.
