Black Majik...

WOW...

Very impressive pistols - AND photographs...

If I keep seeing pistols like these, I think Mr. Les Baer is going to end up with half my savings account. :what:

Or maybe Mr. KIMBER45TLE could take all of my money, should he ever need a home for any of those beauties he posted. :D

ddj8052, I've never seen a TRP quite like yours. Did you have any additional work done to it, or am I just not looking hard enough? BTW, I love that quote, although I'm sure most here have absolutely no idea who O'Shea Jackson is - let's just say I've been a fan of his for about 20 years now.

Very nice. I wish they still made 'em that way for less than $800 though :(

Wish I had a real 1911, but I do like my two clones... :D

The beauty is killing me...

I swear on everything I have NEVER seen a RIA 1911 that looked anything close to that, or I definitely wouldn't have a GI Auto Ordnance :what:

bakjr - How's the recoil on that Kimber in 10mm?

Colt NRM Gov't Model, Series 80. Purchased in 2003 back when Colt bothered to sell pistols, before the prices got jacked up. Only a hundred bucks more than the Springfield Mil-Spec it shared the shelf with!

Welcome ABoard Mr Holbrook!

I'm glad to finally see you here.

Thank you for sharing photos of your brilliant collection with us.

Mr Holbrook is almost as well known for his 1911 collection as he is for his genius with the M1 Garand.

Cousin Mike, thanks... but mine don't compare to nearly the amount of many I see on here. If you do get a chance, definitely try out a Les Baer. Or, if you're ever in Socal, give me a PM, I'll let you try mine out. I got another one in my posession in 7 days :D

Mr. Holbrook, your 1911 collections are simply stunning! Some very gorgeous pistols there. :)

I gotta ask.... are those ed brown and wilson guns really worth all that money? I could buy 4 or 5 new GI style 1911s for that kind of cash. the most i've ever spent on one gun was 1200 dollars for a Springfield Armory M1A. how can you spend that much on a handgun? are you guys made of money?

Matt,

It isn't a matter of money. If you really want something, you find a way. I wanted a full custom 1911, and I really like 10mm. So I found a Delta for a good price at an auction, saved my money and sent it to Ted Yost for his particular brand of magic. It took a fair amount of time, so I was able to pay here and there so when the final payment came, it wasn't much of a shock.

Of course, it helps that I don't smoke or drink. I also live where going out to eat is not an option. Little things like that allow you to save a few bucks here and there.

Look at your lifestyle, your budget, and maybe you can afford one of the semi-customs, or even a full on custom built by the gunsmith of your choice.

Black Majik, I was jealous of you for a second.... until I saw you live in PRK :neener: . Nice stack of cash though... any special reason for all that? or do you like to not earn intrest by using savings accounts? :p

Bob R, My house is being rebuilt due to hurricane damage so eating out is the ONLY option right now :( . Also, I find drinking very theraputic and I like my new truck better than an Ed Brown, Wilson, or Yost gun. You do speak the truth however.. that is the way I found the money for my M1A when I was a freshman in high school.
