Makeshift Snapcaps

Remove the primers in a few fired cases and fill the primer pockets with silicone sealant.

I made up 6 snap caps for .38 Special by decapping and resizing the cases, then gluing pieces of pencil eraser in the primer pockets. They work fine.

In most autos, getting homemade snap caps to feed can be a problem. Me, I'm too cheap to waste perfectly good bullets for use in snap caps (and definitely too cheap to spend $2 each for commercially made ones). But in .40 cal at least, .380 cases wrapped in a bit of masking tape and jammed into the case work just fine. Don't know about any other caliber combinations.
