I know about that Mossberg Lockbox, but what are better (more concealed; easier to access; etc.) ways of storing your HD guns by the bed?

Here's my simple setup. I've got a couple of rack hooks from the 99 cent store.

Looks like gouged shins from hell at 3 A.M. to me.

Other than that, pretty neat. Definately not bad for two bucks. If it were me, I either turn up the ends of the hooks or lop them off short and rubber coat 'em.

i think i would scare the intruder off with my screams of pain from ramming my shin on those hooks as stated above

I have two hooks under the bed that my 870 is suspended from

Where's the best place to get the hooks? I've looked all over for them and the hooks I've got are the only ones I've been able to find.

I'm guessing you get in and out of bed on the other side? Otherwise, that has big "step on the shotgun" potential in the middle of the night.

It's not that hard; they're positioned far enough to the end of the bed so that they don't get in the way much.

I'm just wondering what everyone else does- like just stand it up on the nightstand type stuff.

Hooks

I use one to hang mine via the sling.

It's in a "closet" a couple of feet from the bed.

A cover over the closet conceals it from eyes.

There's no danger of stepping on it,
or impaling a leg on the hook.

Security? Behind three deadbolted doors,
two of which are exterior grade.

i have a wall hung finger tough lock for pump shotgun. i bought it on ebay.
damn if i can find it was going to add the link.

I don't keep a shotgun by the bed. I have a 1911 at hand and the shotgun is in a closet ten feet away.

I need to take a pic, but I have a table beside the bed with a Black Hawk paddle holster screwed to the bottom. It holds a G21 with a surefire. Its concealed, and within easy reach. If I have time theres a 870 in the closet with 7 in the tube, just pump 'n' go :D .

I just followed the link to TUFLOC products. This reminded me of something that I saw a while back. It was a shotgun (long gun) mount similar to the Tufloc brand. However, IIRC the mount I am thinking about was made or sold by Mossberg and used a simple key to unlock it - non electronic.

I did a web search but can't find this item. Anyone here know by chance what I am talking about, and more specifically if they are still available?

Regards,
Rob

I've got a young child, so I couldn't fathom anything like this:

I do keep a Springfield GI and 3 mags of Federal Expanding FMJ in a push button pistol box, affixed to the inside of a nightstand drawer with bolts. The drawer is reinforced with steel, and can't be removed. further, the handle of the pistol box is bike chained through the fram of the cabinet, to the Iron bedpost through the rear of the cabinet.

Basically, I wanted to be sure that someone couldn't get the box out of the drawer, can't get the drawer out of the cabinet, and can't get the cabinet out of the room without serious effort.

The Tufloc looks like you could unscrew your magazine ext. and take the shotgun out, true?
