I graduated this year and got my first job, but to find it's not as great as I expected. Everything seems boring for quite a long time, but now I have found new fun in my hunting life. It gives me a complete relaxation. Hope more people will fall in love this sports:)

I wonder where you guys buy your hunting gears, could you recommend some good stores?

I got this from my friend, but not sure if it's really that good.

Hope we can exchange more useful info here, that's why I join in today.

Welcome aboard. I purchase my goods from several different stores. All depends on who has what on sale and what I need.

Some stores to look at online are;
www.cabelas.com
www.basspro.com

Also check your local area for Academy Sports or Sportsmans warehouse. You might even have a Cabelas or Bass Pro in the local area. Wally world or the local gunshops might have what you need as well.

Welcome boaboabo. Typically what I do is bring alchahol to the deer camp, wait till everyone gets good and loaded and passes out; then I pilage what I need. I've crunched the numbers in my head, and it comes out cheaper that way. Oh, btw, if I've lost money playing poker, I'll take that back also:)

kidding about the clothes. I either shop Cabela's or Academy.

dick's sporting goods has some good camo sales after season. i got a full rainproof suite marked down from 200 to 30-40 dollars.

usually its in bigger sizes, but i'm a thick fellow and a 2xxl or a 3xxl really isn't a problem for me to use :neener:

Welcome to the real world of money chasing and actually having to work for a living. I don't care how cool they make it sound on career day, work sux. LOL!

I like Academy sports and outdoors. We fiiiiiiinally got one in a nearby town! Bass Pro is a yuppie rip off store. Academy has good prices.

Welcome and glad to hear that we have us another hunter amongest us. Hunting is not always about harvesting game. Its about getting out into the outdoors away from the ringing telephones and the boss. It gives you the chance to see other animals and birds in the outdoors that you would not normally see. Yes once in a while you might see some strange things happening outdoors. I have went on many hunts and not ever fired a shot but enjoyed that day. Enjoy your future hunts and stay safe out there.

For deer hunting, khakis from Goodwill are a good deal. A good whetstone to keep the knives sharp. For dry, mild country, RedWing or Russell boots. Cold and wet, other brands/types.

For years I've used an old GI field jacket, because it will buck through catclaw without tearing. I add a liner for really cold weather. And the Olive Drab is a good color.

Lots of good stuff available, and for a lot less money than at the "Gotta Have It!" big-box stores...

could you recommend some good stores
I have purchased lots of stuff in the past from Gander Mtn, Bass Pro, and Cabelas. The stuff from BassPro and Gander Mtn IMO is mostly junk and will not last. The Cabelas stuff seems very well made.

For hunting gear you wear...I have taken my time and spent extra money on a good gortex hunting suit. I also spent extra money on good gortex insulated boots and gloves that are insulated. I also have a good gortex and thinsulate mask and stocking cap. Cold hands and/or cold feet will ruin you hunt. And getting wet while you hunt or are in the outdoors is not fun.

I have found that my hunting gear has come in handy in no hunting or outdoors situations. I have worn my gear at several outdoor sporting events.

In the end the outdoors does not care what you wear...but you might. Have enough equipment to get YOU by in the situations you may encounter.
