Just talking about some informal plinking/friendly competition. We'll be using my AR/CAR-copy and maybe a couple pistols (a Springer 1911, a Glock in .40, and possibly trying out my S&W Model 60).
We'll be shooting from between 25-50 meters.
Paper has gotten boring. The other day I set up a "frame" and hung a plastic gallon water bottle and a beer can. I wrapped both in a layer of duct tape to see if it would keep them from shredding (it actually worked).
We shot from 25 meters, and it worked well (the can was just hard enough to hit off-hand to make it interesting), but the rounds, especiall the .223, would pass through them so quickly that sometimes you couldn't even tell you hit it.
I'm trying to figure out a homemade target that reacts when you hit it, but doesn't get destroyed after only a few rounds.
Anyone have any ideas?
