Question on 5.11 Tactical gear

I just recently acquired a blazer (now discontinued?), a breakaway necktie, and the pouch kit of various Back-up Belt System™ holsters for use with the blazer. The stuff is all so new, I haven't had a chance to try it out yet.
Up to the point where I found those items on sale, I had looked at 5.11 gear as "nice, but pricey." If I were getting a clothing allowance for uniforms, I'd consider the 5.11 Class A or Class B items, but otherwise, it's kinda beyond my means. Dealer cost might make that a non-issue for you, if the quality is as good as you hoped it would be.
I think the BBS™ concept is pretty good, along with the system for hiding earphone wires inside some of the jackets, but most of the stuff still seems to be for people making way more money than I do.

Robo, I also just picked up a 5.11 VIP blazer as it was on clearance for $30. I figured, if the BBS doesn't work, at least it's a blazer that fits for $30. Well, with my Glock 19 in the holster it looks like I have a brick sticking out of my ribcage. Not much better with a snubbie. Let me know if you manage to actually conceal a gun and how you did it.

Guess I'll just use the BBS for mags and handcuffs, and leave the gun on my belt. Oh well, it's long enough to cover just about any belt holster. And it was only $30.

It's a wool/poly blend. It's a semicasual type. I'd wear it to court but your standards might be higher. The cut is good for me in the shoulders, arms, chest. It flares/widens out at the lower 1/4 to 1/3, which is good for concealment but not flattering. Looks to be well made.

I don't know about their jeans, but I am waiting for some local store to stock them so I can try them on. I'm very interested in them.

I also like their Tactical Pants. I don't carry many firearm accessories in them, but the pockets are useful for all kinds of things.

I do however LOVE their Tactical polos. They look like regular polos, but are so comfortable that I have at least 10 (all black or navy blue) and wear them daily (my friends joke that it's my uniform). They have a pen holder on the sleeve which I love for school (I'm always prepared with my pens) and the moisture wicking fabric helps keep me dry and cool (I'm a heavy guy so when it heats up I sweat).

Bear in mind, there is a difference between the "Professional Polo" (also sometimes with a tag that says "Tactical" and the actual "Tactical Polo". Both are comfortable and I have a few of the other type too. Also the "Tactical Polo" has a clip for a radio mic, which I have fun with when I carry my 2-meter HT rig around and talk to hams around the area.

Yeah, sure, I look like a dork, but I like their stuff.

Also, their TDU's and BDU's are second to none IMO, although I've only tried them on, I never bought a pair. I'm waiting to drop some weight before I buy some.

+1 on their Professional Polos. They lack the mic attaching point, but they still have the pen pocket on the sleeve. I wear mine on "casual fridays" at work and they are extremely comfortable and I'd say the best made polo shirts I've ever worn. I managed to snag a long sleeve and a short sleeve off their Clearance list for $15 and $13 respectively. Unfortunately, most of the colors other than Navy Blue are not available as Closeouts. I'm not sure if I'd pay the full asking price for the shirts.. but boy they sure are comfy
