Does anyone have the 4 inch standard XD 9mm with the gear that comes with it?

I'm specifically wondering how good their holster is. Does it hold the XD close enough to the body to conceal it under a large t shirt?

Thanks!

The XD Gear is passable, as in it works in a pinch while making for a nice marketing gimmick. I would however highly suggest getting a decent Fobus holster for only around $20 or so as it will be much better then the included holster. The mag pouch on the other hand is pretty decent.

i think the gear is neat and it might be ok for range work, and for nebe's, and those folks that don't shoot that much and aren't serious about shooting like alot of us. the double mag carrier is cool but not the best one i own. i don't like the holster. i have good leather and kydex for my xd's. the mag loader is great for those who use it, i don't.

Thanks for the info. Actually for the weight difference, and the better availability of holsters and other stuff, I'll probably get a Glock 19 instead. It only weighs 29 oz loaded as opposed to the XD weighing almost that much empty. I was looking at an XD because the new ones have the gear, but I like Glocks way better than XDs anyway, so I'm better off getting the G19 and saving up for a holster.

Forget the XD Holster

It does the trick but it's not reason enough to get the XD. I bought my 4" XD9 primarily because of the fit in my hand, the gLock just doesn't do it for me. I love how it shoots and for me as my first gun has been everything I could have asked for out of it. With that said, the holster itself has done nothing more for me than allow me to feel what it's like to have a gun on my hip.

Exactly that.

I tried it once. Got me one of these (or a close knock off -- used, with no branding information), and it's much better.

I got an XD-9 last year. Didn't come with the holster, so I went and paid for one. :banghead:

It works. That's about all I can say for it.

Great gun. It deserves a great holster.

well the xd does have more metal parts than the glocks, which equalls quality and longevity in my opinion. like metal sights, trigger, and guide rod. which the glocks do not have!:neener:

I got the 19

Well I got the G19. I like the feel of Glocks better in my hand than XD's, I can accurately shoot any model and caliber of Glock I've ever tried, and I still think they and HK's are built the best. XDs are still proving themselves. I just don't like grip safeties, hence not getting the XD or ever having a 1911. I think the grip safety is unncessary, but that's just me.

XDs are way past "proving themselevs".

Mine has been absolutely perfect as has been many, many others that have posted here and on other boards.

As for the "grip safety", I don't even realize it's there when shooting.

Well, nonetheless, I don't like grip safeties, they're completely unncessary.

Thanks for the replies.
