1911 grips. Can someone explain.

Grips from an original 1911... depends on how you define 'original'. That could mean the grips off one of the made-for-Uncle-Sam 1911s.
 
They are stocks apparently removed from a USGI 1911 .45 pistol, that were used from 1911 through the early 1920's. Thereafter the stocks were fully checkered without the big diamonds around the screws.

While these stocks are probably genuine, it should be kept in mind that they have been widely duplicated, and making a fake pair would not be dificult.

They appear to be the real thing, but I would hesitate to risk $205.00 without being sure - especially with nothing but the illustrations to go by.

Don't know that Ol' P.T would take the risk either... :uhoh:
