Looking at the pictures on this website, it's not entirely clear to me how it was possible to place a magazine into the g11 without putting one's hand in front of, or at least very close to the line of fire of the gun.
The magazine can't be dropped straight in, since the scope is in the way. It must slide in from the front end of the gun.
Unless you were sure the chamber was empty, that doesn't look safe. Also, given the chamber design, how would you know if it was empty?
