Just saw in this mornings paper that the MO. House of Rep. gave final legislative approval to the measure Thursday on a vote of 150-2. The Senate passed the bill overwhelmingly in mid-march.

It goes on the say "The legislation contains no penalty for taking firearms during an emergency, but supporters say that the threat of litigation would be enough to keep police and government officials in line".

It now goes to Gov. Matt Blunt for final approval.

Gov. Blunt

Gov. Blunt announced on the radio today that he will sign this into law at the NRA convention in St.Louis.

It also looks like the Missouri "castle" law, Senate bill 62 is in the final stages of being passed. I don't fully understand the legislative procedure, but it was passed in the Senate and sent to the house, where it has worked it's way through the first and second reading and is in one of the house committees now, about to be reported out to then be voted upon by the house. I understand it has strong support.

If Missouri gets if version of Castle Doctrine passed it contains the penalty for trying to confiscate firearms.:D

If Missouri gets if version of Castle Doctrine passed it contains the penalty for trying to confiscate firearms.

I would assume that penalty would be something like "lead approaching you at 3200fps"?

Question

Does anyone know anything about the (NEW) rules/laws for purchasing pistols? I thought our Governor was supposed to sign new legislation allowing us to purchase pistols without all the other BS involved here, Only the NIC's Check like purchasing a rifle or shotgun.

I can't find any info on this.
