Saw an article recently on the Clinton administrations turning over the names of 83,000 vets with PTSD ratings to the NICS system, and that they are now "prohibited possessors".

Question: How does one find out if they have been placed on the list other than attempting to purchase a firearm and being declined?

Want to know for many reasons. Help?

If any of these vets are turned down for a firearm, the doctor (or psychiatrist) should specifically have it noted in the file that the veteran should not be allowed to possess a firearm.
Even then, there should be an APPEALS PROCESS.
Our Country's veterans did not make the sacrifices that they made to have their rights stripped away unfairly.

BTW, I'm an active duty LT (O-3) US Navy.

This type of "knee jerk" thing makes my blood boil!!!!

i feal alot safer witha vet with a gun and ptsd than i do some of the guys at school that i have been hunting with and they "fine"

This is exactly why my dad WON'T go to the VA for anything. Had a bud that lost his livelihood over seeking help for recurrent nightmares.

birdbustr, AD Navy LT as well. 1310 type.

The truth is these 83,000 vets Second Amendment rights have already been infringed upon. They have appealed through all "normal" channels for appeal and have been stone-walled at every turn. They have appealed to the government for redress of their grievances without success. Subsequently they have filed a class action law suit in civil court. To date they have been unsuccessful being vindicated.

For those of you more knowledgeable than I, is there a way to determine if someone has been placed on the NICS list WITHOUT going and attempting to purchase a firearm?

thumper,
I'm a 1110 SWO. I can't believe how veterans that have been way deeper in ***** than I ever have are being treated. I also can't believe how people could even consider putting another Clinton in the Whitehouse. People have obviously forgotten the shame that the Clintons brought on this nation.

IMHO, the most noble thing Hillary could have done would have been to divorce that liar/cheater .

Yep. My dad, uncle, grandfather and great grandfather have seen stuff that would blow my mind, and not in a good way. They all have the image of Naval Aviation being a bunch of A4 and A6's going "downtown" in Nam.

Endless SSC off a CG in a 60B is not quite the same.

Back on topic, the way that they have been stonewalled is unacceptable. I now understand why my father all but refuses to use the VA for anything, ever.
