Hello.

No1HiPowerBenchwood2.jpg
I bought this Hi Power new in '71. Before having it hardchromed (Armalloy in Ft. Worth, TX), I had the S&W sights installed and later the BarSto bbl fitted to the gun. I'd worn the blue off of the front and rear grip straps from use. This one is still used today and still on original parts other than replacing springs now and again.

Before retiring from police service and rebluing my "duty Hi Power", it was pretty well to the white along the edges of the slide and frame with the blue worn off the front grip strap. The finish is not pristine now, but still much better than before having it refinished.

Best.

Mr. Camp, your Number One was the one that convinced me the BHP is a pretty weapon after all.

That, and Number One was the inspiration for the main character's piece in my comic. The Excalibur of 9mm's right there.

My Inglis Mk1 #2 was well used by the British until 1962 when it went through Factory Thorough Repair at Enfield Depot and was then stored for about 35 years before being sold off as surplus.
I guess it is well nused.

I was an air crew member on a chopper in Nam back in the late 60's and carried this BHP as my personal weapon.

DoorGunner: I bought mine in 1967 for the same reason, and carried it on two flying cruises from carriers up north. Used a surplus AF bandolier holster with two spare magazines fitted along the shoulder strap by an understanding parachute rigger. I was not going to become a guest in the Hanoi Hilton.

Mine used to look just like yours (its finish still does). But when the front sight fell out at the range, and I had to have it milled to accept a new one, I went hog wild: SFS kit and Crimson Trace stocks. Had the load ramp polished too, so it shoots anything I've tried. Still, I envy you. Nice backup too.

Well Done, Army!

My Argrntine HP

It was very accurate out of the box (come to think of it, there was no box!), but the sights were terrible. I installed the BoMar rear and a dovetail front along with the safety and grips. Hard chrome by AP&W.
Now it's accurate AND easy to shoot.

Funny how you can always depend on Mr. Camp to have a pic of a BHP!

Here's the BHP I keep in the nightstand by my bed. I replaced the plastic stocks, and installed Tritium Night Sights. This HP has never failed to feed, fire, extract and eject. :)

Here is one of two BHP Mark III's that I own. The photo doesn't really show the finish wear and how "well used" it actually is. It is extremely dependable and I can't remember it ever jamming or failing to fire after thousands of rounds. I've used it for IDPA, my nightstand gun and my carry gun (when I'm away from my home state that is...) My other one is unfired, new in the box.

I just used mine in a CCW Qual. Best in Class. Dropped 6 points out of 500 at 5, 10, 15, 25 yards.

$300 Argentine FM Hi-power, 3500+ rounds and one FT Eject. No other failures:

BTW: Bianchi holster sucks. Loose fit, marked as 1911. Was sold as made for 9mm Hipower.

Would love one but the thumb safety is skinny

I dont have the hi-power yet, one reason is I find the thumb safety - skinny. Activating and deactivating seem difficult. Is there an after market for this?

Well this one is pretty well used.
