Does anybody know of a company that makes a 1911 in .40S&W

I see Para makes some but they are done in a double stack mag. I really just want a basic looking 1911 that happens to fire the .40S&W round.

I see plenty in 9mm., .45acp and .38Super.

.357sig would also be acceptable but really would rather .40S&W

A 3" single stack 1911 in .40S&W would make the most sense to me as its with the sub 4" barrels that .40S&W has the real advantage over .45ACP.

STI/SVI make them, stay away from the Kimbers unless you want MIM parts.

Taurus listed a .40 1911, back when their 1911 had not yet come out. I don't think one ever came to market though.

When I picked up my last gun from my FFL, he sent me outside to shoot his Kimber government .40 he keeps behind the counter. I almost took two pistols home.

Kimber or STI. Either are great guns, but neither is a $2K custom gun with forged frame/slide and no MIM parts.

If a barrel bushing and grip safety aren't important and a used pistol is fine then look at the Firestar M40. I have had mine for about 10 years now and haven't had any problems with it.
