Picked up a K31 and Enfield No4 Mk1 at AIM as birthday presents for myself. Very happy with the rifles but am now faced with what to feed them with. I know the Swiss surplus has an excellent reputation but it is berdan primed. Surplus .303 that is currently available seems to be of dubious quality. Ammunitionstore.com has the Partizan for 8.95 a box in both calibers. Just wondering if anyone has used it and what their opinions are. I'm thinking about pulling my reloading equipment out of mothballs and using the fired brass to try my hand at rifle reloading (loaded .45acp and .357 magnum in the past). Any input would be appreciated.

Bought some from Graf's but haven't shot it yet. Not cheap, though. Need to get some of the Wolf Gold 7.5x55, it costs less and is also reloadable.

There's a lot of good 7.5x55 reloading info on the Swiss rifles site... going to try reloading it later this year.

Prvi Partizan was imported during the 80s under the Hansen brand name. It was very good stuff. ASSuming their quality is the same I would not hesitate to buy and shoot a lot of it.

All of the Prvi Partisan ammo that I've shot has been good stuff...

The currently produced FNM blue and white box ammo is made in parts of the old Yugoslavia, some probably by Prvi Partisan (but there are other producers of excellent ammo there too).

Cole Distributing has the 7.5x55mm 170gr FMJ for $9.99/box of 20, with discounts for larger amounts. They also have the 7.5x54mm MAS with a 139 gr FMJ mil spec bullet for $7.99/box of 20. All brass cased, non-corrosive and boxer primed...

It's good stuff.

I bought a box of it a few weeks ago. As it happens, I shot my K31 this morning. I was getting decent groups with GP11 (for me at least). I switched over and fired 4 rounds of that Privi stuff. The group was noticeably larger. I went back to GP11 and finished out with that.

I am not saying it is bad, just not as good as GP-11. I was pretty sure the larger group wasn't me, but I can never rule that out. :) If you are getting brass to reload, it won't matter after the first use anyhow I guess. I will say that GP11 is good stuff. I think I'll have to spring for a 500 rd case before too long.

I've also been waiting for a report (my range is closed until Spring, so I haven't shot my K31 yet.)

I thought (read somewhere, probably here) that the Wolf Gold was made by Prvi Partizan, is that not the case? If so, I would expect them to shoot about the same. Anyone got current info on the Wolf Gold manufacture?

The Privi has been excellent in many different calibers for me.

Note: The new Wolf GOLD ammo is brass cased, boxer primed, reloadable... and made by Privi Partizan!

Seems to work ok for me the few times I used it. Didn't the original factory actually get bombed by NATO forces?

I bought some of the older Yugo stuff

in 6.5x55 (from CAI I think). The brass looks darn good. It's thick and the necks are really even in thickness.

The Wolf sold in calibers like 6.5 Swedish, 6.5 Carcano, 7.5 Swiss is made for them by Privi as was stated above. I'd just buy whichever is cheaper. Privi also makes the brass for those calibers and others sold by Graf's.

I've shot both the 32ACP and 7.62x25 Tokarev Prvi Partizan and they both performed well - no FTF or other distractions. Wish I had bought more as it was far cheaper than other boxer primed cartridges.

Wolf Gold IS Prvi Partizan just in a different colored box. You can usually find the Prvi stuff a little cheaper though. No middleman to pay as you do with the Wolf brand. I love the PP 174gr SP, shoots just as good as the GP11 for me and it's very easily reloadable brass. Try Aimsurplus for the PP brand. They have it in assorted calibers and it's cheaper than buying regular .308 or 30-06 at the local store.

I've shot quite a bit in .223 and some in .30-30.
Reliability 100%.
Accuracy adequate.

Seems to have somewhat tight primer pockets.
