CZ 52 for Home Defense

Those are under-rated but great guns! I would seriously hunt down some jhp rounds because the fmjs have rifle-like penetration. I'd be very reluctant to use the 7.62 tokarev fmj in a home/self defense scenario.

Agreed, unless your walls are cinder block. Even with JHP I'd still be concerned.

Unless you can scope and shoot your BG through 3-4 walls and hes got Body Armor on Id probably pick a different gun!

That is unless you dont have neighbors for about a mile in any direction. If you live in a semi populated area...its the last gun Id pick. Even with hollow points!

Ive joked for years about "Its the perfect gun if you have 4-5 BG's lined up perfectly in a row and have 1 round left!"

Great gun..and an absolute flame thrower at dusk.......but for plinking/rabbit hunting etc.

I have thought about getting one for home defence but everyone has steered me the other way because of overpenetration in homes. If you could find some hollowpoins now thats a different story.

Will it make a good "house protection". The bullet is going to 'boogie' and pass through about anything around.

I use my '52 for ccw and for the house. I use Wolf JHP in it. I purchased my ammo from J&G via the internet. If you live in the sticks, I'd say use it. If you'r still worried about too much penetration, Look at this site with ballistic gel tests with JHP from the CZ52-http://www.brassfetcher.com/Wolf%2085gr%20Copper%20JHP.html

The Wolf Gold 85 gr. JHPs shoot very well in my CZ52. I'm trying to remember to soak some newspapers before he next trip to the range to see what they will do.

I have kept mine ready to rock and roll in my house as HD gun before. It is really accurate, and if you miss the giant flame and extra loud kaboom it makes will make the BG's wet themself. You could do much worse than a CZ-52 for a HD weapon. Ive heard of some people CC'ing them, but I just don't trust the saftey on mine, it swipes off way to easy.
