While you may say that you're coming with other facebook events that you really have no intention on attending, please do not say you will attend if you don't plan on participating! The number of participants will be broadcast in a press release and whenever SCCC members talk to the media. It does us no good if 1,000 pledge your participation but only 50 of you ACTUALLY participate! Thanks.

This protest is happening at YOUR campus! We're protesting the fact that people who have valid concealed handgun licenses can not legally carry in nearly every college in the country. The whole gun free zone has already been tried - and it has always failed miserably.
So, during the week of April 21st, join thousands of other college students, staff and faculty members, and community members who believe that valid concealed handgun license holders should be able to carry on college campuses, just like they do in other crowded and peaceful areas without incident - for defense of their own lives.
We will be posting suggestions for making this protest more visible than the last one.
For now, start saving your money for an SCCC T-shirt. If you start right now, you might be able to save the $11-26 by April.

Students who are already concealed carry license holders in many states are forced to disarm when coming to school, even though we are allowed to go nearly anywhere else in the state while armed. We want to extend our ability to protect ourselves and those around us onto campus, where we spend a majority of our time.
Wear an empty holster to class all week to demonstrate that you are just one more trained individual that is forced to disarm, showing that there is one less person to defend yourself and those in your immediate proximity on campus in a worst case scenario.
Even those who do not have a license but support the cause are strongly encouraged to participate. Power in numbers, and a nation of students concerned about their safety is a strong message from a lot of people.
PLEASE NOTE: WE ARE NOT TRYING TO PUT A GUN IN EVERY STUDENT'S HANDS!!! We are simply saying that those who are already legally licensed should have the right to defend themselves where they spend the majority of their time, on campus. Concealed Handgun License holders have a proven track record of being some of the most peaceful members of society, and we've also been cleared of any mental instabilities or dependencies on any drug/alcohol in addition to passing one of the harshest background checks a civilian will ever encounter. WE ARE NOT THE SAME PEOPLE WHO KILL OTHERS, we are people preparing for the worst, with a hope for the best.
This is a NON-VIOLENT protest. A holster has never killed anybody, it is just a holder, much like many people's cell phone holsters. We are simply doing this to show that where ever we are, there would have been at least one person to resist against a murderer, that is all. Yes, we will be taking the proper communication with the respective Universities to make sure that there is no confusion that this is a NON-VIOLENT protest. This is also NOT the place for debate. If you'd like to debate or are interested in learning why we want to carry on campus, feel free to join our group Students for Concealed Carry on Campus. Remember however, you'll be treated just as you treat others.
You don't need to have a concealed handgun license in order to support the fundamental right of CHL holders. You don't even have to own a gun or be old enough to have a CHL. If you believe that the people who go about their daily lives carrying in malls, movie theaters, and supermarkets should enjoy these same rights on college campuses, then please show your support and wear an empty holster.
If anyone needs holsters, please contact any of the administrators of this event, or go to
www.concealedcampus.org and contact your local campus leader. Some of us have been shipped empty holsters to hand out for this protest, and are more than willing to ship them where they are needed.
We are also currently working with local gun shops and holster makers to try to arrange for the loaning or discounting of holsters. If this doesn't work out, look at WalMart and Meijer for AirSoft pistol holsters, they go for about $10.

PROTEST GUIDELINES:
1. Do not carry ANYTHING in your holster. Some members have suggested the idea of carrying cell phones or other personal items in their holsters, as a way of showing that the holsters themselves are harmless; however, SCCC strongly discourages against doing so. Aside from the fact that a casual observer’s overactive imagination might lead him or her to believe that the item in your holster is actually a gun, carrying something in your holster detracts from the protest’s statement. The point of wearing EMPTY holsters is symbolic, so please don’t confuse the issue by placing anything in your holster.
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WHATSOEVER SHOULD YOU, AT ANY TIME, PLACE ANYTHING IN YOUR HOLSTER THAT LOOKS EVEN REMOTELY LIKE A FIREARM!
2. If your holster has a top flap designed to cover a pistol, please find a way to pin or tie that flap open so that it is readily apparent that your holster is empty.
3. As long as you’re wearing a holster and/or a ConcealedCampus.com T-shirt, leave your temper at home. Part of the price for standing up for your beliefs is facing ridicule from those who disagree. Remain calm at all times. Act dignified and professional at all times. No matter what anyone says to you, be the bigger person.
4. If, at anytime during the protest, a member of the opposition “crosses the line,” notify the appropriate authorities immediately. Though facing ridicule is part of the price for standing up for your beliefs, giving up your basic human rights is not part of that price. If anyone threatens you with any illegal action (violent or non-violent), IMMEDIATELY notify campus or local police. If a professor suggests that your participation in the protest may somehow negatively affect your grade in his or her class, notify your school administration.
5. No protester should, under any circumstances, wear a holster onto the campus of any high school, junior high, middle school, or elementary school. This protest is about concealed carry by licensed individuals on college campuses. The agenda of Students for Concealed Carry on Campus does not encompass similar issues affecting primary and secondary schools.
6. Use your best judgment at all times. The organizers of this protest cannot foresee every possible scenario. If you encounter a situation for which you are not prepared, think through it, and use your best judgment.

To Whom It May Concern:
During the week of April 21-25, students on the campus of (NAME OF SCHOOL) will be joining college students across the nation in peacefully protesting against state laws and campus policies which prohibit concealed handgun license holders from carrying their concealed firearms on college campuses. We believe that licensed individuals legally permitted to carry concealed handguns virtually everywhere else in the state of (NAME OF STATE WHERE SCHOOL IS LOCATED), from office buildings to movie theaters, should be allowed the same measure of personal security on college campuses.
This will be a peaceful protest. The nature of the protest will be limited to students wearing T-shirts and EMPTY holsters. The significance of the empty holsters is to symbolize that students, faculty, and guests are left defenseless on college campuses; therefore, no protestor will carry anything resembling a firearm in his or her holster. Protestors will not carry signs or banners, and nobody will make any attempt to disturb the peace. Protestors will simply go about their daily routines while wearing holsters which, in both appearance and function, differ only slightly from cell phone holsters.
