Yesterday I found a Ruger 10/22 carbine for 179 slightly used. I have no idea why I've held off buying one of these after shooting my brother in law's, but I have one on layaway. I already started looking at replacing the stock with a stock that has a pistol grip, and I'm gonna get a few hi-cap magazines. What would be a good replacement stock that won't break the bank, and what are the best hi-cap mags? Thanks in advance!

Look for package specials that offer a bull barrel and Hogue overmolded stock. Did only that mod to mine and it changed my mind from selling to keeping.l

+2 on the Hogue Stock.

I bought one for my son's 10/22, and had to take it off because his arms are too short (he's 9) for it. I found a youth stock for it on eBay and put that on.

That Hogue is so nice and "tacky" to the touch, that I'm thinking of buying another 10/22 to put in it!

Or..... I could just buy that Mini-30 I want, and get a Hogue for THAT one... hmmmmmm

Bass Pro is selling 10/22's for $159 brand new, in case anyone else wants to get in on the 10/22 lovin'.
