This gun is quite a departure from my normal 'fighting guns' theme. The engraving and high polish on the slide flats is interfering with my ability to pick a set of grips that look 'just right'. The polish is also making this gun very difficult to photograph.
Maybe I should just sandblast the entire pistol and paint it flat black! :scrutiny:
Anyways, have a look and tell me which grips are 'right'.
If it makes a difference, this is a 3 caliber gun using 2 barrels. 9x19, 38super and 9x23.

High velocity, note that it's the only one with screws in it..

I think he knew the answer to this question before he asked it =)

That's a beautiful piece. Grip wise, I like the black pearl followed closely by the uncheckered wood.

The sharp diamonds and checkering on the other grips do not compliment the lovely scroll work and dimpled front strap, in my opinion. I slightly prefer the slotted screws too.

I also really like the basket weave style checkering on one set. I just don't think they fit as well as the other two.

Great looking pistol.
As for which set of grips... Need more choices.
None of the choices do the gun any justice.
They just don't seem to 'suit' or 'complete' the pistol...

Maybe ivory or stag?

Black pearl. Only way to go with a high-polish gun. The swirls go with the scrollwork on the flats.

Definitely stay away from the tactical grips for this one.

(Nice gun!)

Wow.... that is a true thing of beauty. You are truly talented! I kind of like the smooth wood grips... not sure. But wow... I am awestruck...What a beautiful piece.... saying its a beautiful gun doesn't do it justice... its a true work of art.

I vote for the black pearl as well, it goes well with the high polish, and contrasts the stainless well. Oh and by the way, thats a fricken sweet 1911!

For some reason, I prefer the smooth wood on this beauty, followed closely be the black pearl:)

So shiney, I can almost read your mail, in the one close up:D

I think the grips should be black to accent the black sights and trigger. If not the black pearl, then black wood grips, smooth with no checkering should work well. Another beautiful creation BTW.

Anyways, have a look and tell me which grips are 'right'.

Chuck, I would go with the set in the second picture you posted, or the black double diamond. I have strange taste's though, you may not want to listen to me LOL

Thanks for the help all. :)
I've got a black set of Mil-Tacs on the way that I need to try and there are a few sets at http://www.esmeralda.cc/ that look interesting.

I think I'm getting the hang of photographing a high polish.
The flag is a reflection.
