Your project rifles

Right now it's just a barrel and stock. It's going to be a CZ550 Magnum build in .375 H&H Mag. I'm going to shorten the barrel from 24" to 21" or 22". Recoil pad will be changed out for a SVL pad. I'm picking up a receiver from Brownells and giving it a work over. Trying to get a set of ghost ring sights for it and maybe a rail for a scope mount. Not sure if I want to red dot it or get a simple 2x or 4x with a wide FOV.

I'm going to restore my K-31 back to factory new.

Not much, .303 and .308 Enfields.

Current projects or recently completed?

MJ, I really like the .308 enfield project you have there. I have been wanting to attempt one with my gunsmith, but he keeps trying to talk me out of it. Something about a really nice military sporter intrigues me. My last project a free Glenfield beater I cut the barrel down to 16.25" and krylon camo, new hammer spring, cleaning, still needs a new feedramp to be reliable. My next project is a $50 model 55 shotgun I intend to camo.

This Swedish Mauser was a barreled action found in my Grandfather's workshop after he passed away. It had already been rebarreled with a Douglas barrel (still chambered in the original 6.5x55), the bolt handle hand been bent, it was drilled and tapped for scope mounts, and it was halfway through a cock-on-open conversion.

I finished the cock-on-open conversion, milled the bolt shroud for a model-70 style safety, installed a Timney trigger, scoped it, and put a stock on it (I may upgrade the stock one day).



I've got another Mauser (mystery action, intermediate length 98 style w/ fully enclosed head and no marking other than serial) sporter in 6mm Remington that has a similar story.

I got one...but its at the "smith". (no pics yet)

Its a Remington SPS Tactical 308...I haven't had it but a couple of weeks, but its going to be restocked, and a nice scope put on it when I get the $$$.

That is a Mosin issued to Yugoslavia and put directly into storage. The scope and bracket were removed but the bent bolt was left on. Very nice rifle. Tempted to shoot it the sell it as is.

Most everyone has seen this project....It has been fun and nearing the end. Shooting it isn't as much fun as building it but it does attract attention at the range. Even the County Sheriff was inclined to comment. Said that if the Zombies do come he wants me by his side.
