I shot about 100 rounds out of my Glock 17 the last time I took it out and forgot to clean it - now I won't be able to until December because I'm in another state. Will this harm the gun? What about the tactical light? Thanks in advance.

If it will harm the gun or the light, I could have one of my parents clean it I suppose.

100 rounds is nothing. If the gun is dry I would not worry about it. If you can get someone to clean it it will lower your worries.

As long as you wiped off your sweat and fingerprints before putting it up, I'm betting it'll be fine as long as its not stored where condensation happens. Assuming you didn't use corrosive ammo, which is pretty unlikely for 9mm these days.

The Glock is the most durable arm out there---I wouldn't give it a second thought---unless you stored it in a dank basement or garage.

Thanks guys.

I mean its in a drawer in my air-conditioned bedroom - nothing to worry about it seems.

+1 for rugerfreak's comments.

The OEM Glock components are very corrosion-resistant. I don't worry about keep rust off mine, just removing firing residues and lubing it to keep it running every one in a while. Thousands of rounds in the IPSC game...

I have many different firearms that haven't been cleaned in several years.I bought my last Glock for the main reason of not having to worry about cleaning for extended periods of time. They are very rust resistant.I had another brand of poly pistol that everyone claimed would rust if you looked at them funny.I sold it over that concern alone.YMMV.tom.

In December when you get back unload the gun, put it in it's factory case with all the accessories. Then ship it to me. Often times these guns corrode from powder residue and become unsafe to handle. I will properly dispose of it for you.

Seriously thought, you will be fine.

I have a buddy who has about 2000 rounds through his G23. Last time he cleaned it was when he brought it home from buying it.

I clean my play Glocks at 2-3000 rounds. If I'm carrying it I will give it a quick wipe and inspect. Since you're new, do you know why Glock publishes the Glock Annual magazine for GSSF members? To remind them to clean their gun! :neener:

I think, it will look just like you left when you get back.....
I would NOT worry about it.

That was a good read.

Yup. I've read it many times and still find it very interesting.

If I had the money, I'd buy a whole bunch of different pistols and do that to them just to see what would happen.

If you will be back in December of 2021 or so, you might want to worry.
If you left it parked in the bottom of a lake, you might want to worry.
If you left it in a cement mixer...

You get the idea. :)

I'm not a Glock fan, but having owned several once upon a time, I give them their due.

A Glock? You could likely bury it in the back yard for a year and it would still fire when you dug it up. I wouldn't loose any sleep over it.
