My Model 17. I also have a 5" 6 shot 617 and 4" 10 shot 617. The 17 is currently at the factory getting rebuilt after 50 yrs. of heavy shooting.

pkoel81,
Is that a steel or an alloy cylinder? Looks blued from the pic, but I did not think such an animal existed.

Bought my K22 new in 1950 when I was 14. Cost 60 dollars. Took about 2 years to accumulate all that change in a couple of tabacco cans. Still run about 100 rds a month thru her.

S&W 617-6 10-shot 6", with Eagle "Heritage" grips, a hard-chromed target trigger, an old-style cylinder release thumbpiece, resting atop a box of its new favorite ammo (CCI Standard Velocity).

I've also got a S&W 17-8 10-shot 6", but I haven't had a chance to take pictures of it yet.

Here's mine all ready for squirrel hunting:

Here's my 10 shot, love it!

I have a chance to get a nice condition (93%) post war K-22 Masterpiece, just not sure if it's a good deal or not at $525...

My compliments to all of you good tasteful folks who appreciate the niceties of Smith & Wesson .22 caliber revolvers.

I have some: a 1948 and a 1958 K22 6" and a later 1989 17-6. I've also more recently aquired by trade one of the black full lug 10 shot models, a 617-8 (? - it's out in the kitchen, too far to go for verification right now) and like that one very much.

Just last week I found a mint ANIB Model 18 that I'm almost positive has never been fired since it's 1975 manufacture. Awesome find, beautiful pistol, shocking price. I could not resist it.

In miniature I've also got a 34-1, 2" snubbie J frame target revolver!

I'll come back later with some photos but for now I'm using an unfamiliar browser without bookmarks. See the news about IE today.
