I need help deciding on a CCW

Right now I have a Taurus PT 1911SS and really like it but I want something smaller and in a different caliber.

Here is my requirements

Caliber: 9mm,.357Sig,.40 I dont know which yet I lke the ballistics of the .357 but I would not be able to practice with it as much I like the 9mm but I am a little worried about the stopping power, I like the .40 because of the stoppng power.

Size: I want something close to the following size
Height: 5.00
Length: 7.00
Barrel Length: 4.00

The thing is I do not like Glocks I dont like the feel of Pistol Grip Angle or the Width of it. I really like the angle of a 1911 and the slimer Pistol Grip.

I am looking to spend around 600-700

Try a Springfield XD or S&W M&P.

I prefer the Glock but other people like these, especially the XD.

If you don't mind conventional DA/SA, try the FN FNP.

Maybe a SIG P239? It might be a bit out your price range new, but otherwise seems to meet your criteria.

Nice little gun. Not exactly a subcompact, but it is extremely thin due to the single stack mag.

One of the W. German P225/P6s could be a good choice as well. The silhouette is slightly larger than the 239, but it is equally thin, maybe a bit thinner. I think they would both make great CCWs.

Hey, Tac...Sounds pretty close to the dimensions of my Kimber Pro Carry...
If you want to stay with the 1911 style, (as you said you like the grip) then something like that would probably work for you, and you still have the stopping power you like in the .45 caliber. Probably in that price range, as well. Basically a standard 1911, minus 1 inch/barrel and slide...Easy to conceal, light, accurate, and 8 rounds at the ready...

My friend has a Pro-Carry II and I have shot it and I can shoot it fairly well, the thing is I do not want to carry a 45ACP I like the power but I am wanting to use a smaller caliber so that I can practice with it more and because I am able to shoot the smaller calibers better

Since you already like the 1911, how about one in your caliber. I recently picked up a Para USA (formerly Para Ordnance) 1911. Its called the LTC and has a 4" barrel. It is a hoot to shoot. Here it is:

I knew that they made some of there pistols in 9mm but I did not release that the Pro-Carry II was I wish it was cheaper though it is out of my price range unless I find a used one

Easiest and cheapest solution would be to buy a shorter slide and barrel for your 1911.

I believe that PARA, KIMBER, and SPRINGFIELD all have something in that size range in 9mm or 40. Some other options would be KAHR T series, either steel or polymer frames although they are not single action. Another one that comes to mind is CZ 75d PCR this is a 9mm that fits into your size requirements, again not single action.

I have a Kahr K40 which I think is a great CCW. Mine has the night sights, comfy rubber grips and Tungsten DLC finish. Weighs a little more than the CW40, but it helps tame the kick. It has never had a failure of any kind in around 500 rounds or so.

IFYOU GONNA CARRY IWB or OWB` then any of the guns listed are winners. If your looking for a pocket carry , then IMO the kahr line fills that bill. You can surely pocket carry the PM9 and PM40 and even the PM45.

A super well made quality gun that will go bang every time. Not cheap,but neither is life.
