When I got home from Iraq two weeks ago, I treated myself to my dream pistol...the Springfield Armory MC Operator.

After my 10-day wait, I picked her up, cleaned her, put a Surefire X300 on her, and took her to the range today with over 200 rounds in my range bag.

The pistol is VERY tight and shoots tight groups. I put all my rounds through her with zero failures, malfunctions, jams, stoppages, or misfires. She shoots like a dream...other than the fact that she groups high and right.

My POA was center-mass of your typical human silhouette at 7 yards. My POI was just outside the top of the orange box and about 2 inches right. The POI remained the same with/without the Surefire X300 mounted.

It's not a matter of my shooting proficiency, it is the weapon itself. My buddy bought the same gun at the same time and he was shooting his today for the first time as well. I fired his pistol immediately after firing mine and his weapon hits POA.

What are my options to correct this? I absolutely love this gun...HELP!

drive the rear sight in its dove tail with a brass punch. hit it the direction you want POI to move.

elevation will be easiest adjusted with bullet weight. this is counter intuitive, heavier bullets will hit higher, and lighter ones lower. i'd leave this alone, due to the close range you were shooting at.

at 25 yards (+,-) it will be just about right.

I have nothing to contribute to your question, but welcome home and enjoy that handgun! I envy you for having one :cuss:

birds of a feather

i guess us sandbox kids gotta stick together... i see that AL and Tanker are in/from iraq, and i'm in arifjail. i'll join you in the real world in about a month, Tanker. hope Al gets there soon also.

nice iron, good score. just for grins, what is the difference twixt the 300 surefire and the older 200 model? have same on a kimber warrior.

taking the light off makes no noticable shift in impact on mine.

Gunnie, as far as I know, the only different in is the bulb/brightness/run time.

I was shooting 230 grain FMJ ammunition.
