About a month ago I had to send my Springfield TRP back to the factory. It's the first pistol I've ever had to return. I can't say enough great things about the customer service though.

After purchasing the TRP I broke her down for a good cleaning and noticed that the barrel bushing wasn't just tight....it was EXTREMELY tight. It took everything I had to remove it. I cleaned her up and went to the range. The TRP shot a nice ragged one hole group at 15 yards. The only problem is that it was shooting 6" high and 2" left from a rest at 15 yards.

I've been shooting for a while and never had a pistol that was so far off out of the box. I will say that Springfield customer service was wonderful. They emailed a FEDEX label immediately and let me know it would take 4 weeks for the turn-around. I got her back yesterday with the #3 test target. The sights were replaced and adjusted and it was shooting a 3/4" 5 shot group at 25 yards from a rest, just below dead center.

I've been blessed to have many nice pistols, but I have to admit, for the last month I haven't even wanted to go to the range and play without the TRP. Now that she's back it's time to go play! I feel like a kid at Christmas, we'll see how she shoots....but I really have no doubts it will be awesome.

Best Regards,
Jerry

Great to hear. I've got nothing but great things to say about Springfield Armory's customer service end...in fact, I'd put them right up there with Wilson Combat on that front.

P.S. I love my TRP too, it's just an awesome pistol.

Can't say enough good about S.A. customer service, my experience was similar to yours. Bought a new Loaded last spring that had some issues and they took care of the problems and then some.

I bought a LN half rail TRP a few weeks ago. So far it's been flawless with the 2 factory mags. I've got some more mags on order.
One of the reasons I bought a Springfield was their customer service rep.

I broke my SA MC operator, but I had a smith fix it, and then sold it.

My xd has broken and been sent back to SA on 2 occasions. They do have great customer service, I just wish their stuff would hold together a little better.

I still have my xd and I love it, it was my first semi auto and I will never get rid of it, but it is kinda crazy that the same part broke on the same gun twice and with only14,000 between breaks.

1k,

I took the TRP apart last night.....the bushing was nice and firmly set, but nothing compared to how tight it was. The first time I tried breaking her down I seriously thought it was welded on.....I ruined a bushing wrench trying to get it off (and then working to loosen it up).

We'll see how she works this weekend....but I really like the TRP.

Best Regards,
Jerry

Just made it back from the range. I've owned many pistols..... I can't imagine having a more accurate 1911 than the TRP. It makes shooting anything over a 3" target a bit boring even for the average shooter that I am.

Best,
Jerry

I have an HS2000 that had extraction problems about 8 years ago after they bought the design. Even though they had no obligation, legally, to honor the HS warranty, they fixed the pistol for free just as if I had bought it from them.

I'm a Springfield fan, despite the fact that they are in Illinois. :)
