Traded for a S&W 25-5. Plenty of honest use, but no signs of abuse. I knew it needed cleaning and broke it down this evening. Yep, it needs cleaning.

What's the barrel length? Looks like a nice shooter. This may be a dumb question (I am not sure which dash numbers go with which caliber or if some of the dash numbers were in either/or), but is it Colt or ACP?

Congrats on the new gun!!

I'm sure you already know this, but tension should be released from the mainsping before removing the sideplate. With the sideplate removed, the frame pins are only supported on one side.

THR members clued me to relieving the mainspring tension back when I asked how to properly remove the sideplate a couple years ago, but I forgot to do it.

.45 Colt, my bad. It shoots well. I shot it a little this weekend. :D

I have the parts out and wiped off. Now to clean and relube. Putting them back is always fun.

Well, I got it all cleaned, lubed, and back together. I thought I would never get my first one back together again, but I did. They still are not as easy as a 1911.

I am looking forward to shooting it some more this weekend if the weather clears. Its no collectors piece, but I like it. :D

Hey Walkalong, Congrats on your new shooter :D I'm still waiting for a 4" S&W mod 24 or 624 to drop from the sky

Clearly, Walkalong, you got the exterior cleaned up nicely.

Since you probably screwed up the reassembly, I will be happy to save you face and will buy this revolver for $50.00.

And, I won't tell anyone about the messed-up reassembly.
