Hey everyone! I just joined here not too long ago and ive been kind of a lurker trying to read and learn as much as I can. THR seems to be an awesome forum so far!

Anyways, I got a Sig 225/P6 a while back and I am interested in finding a holster for it. This is my first Sig so I am still learning about them. I am in love with it so far though! I did some searching but I didnt exactly find the answer to my questions.

Requirements:

OWB
leather (preferably brown)
used on a belt
have decent retention characteristics
tuck in pretty close to my body
hopefully be high-ride (although its not a requirement)
and not break the bank!

I have looked at some different manufacturers of holster and have done some searching on here too. Since the P6 isnt in production any longer, it is not the easiest gun to find a holster for. I have been looking and I believe a holster for a 229 will work...am I correct?

Please help me find a good holster and thanks for your help!

I have been keeping my eye out on ebay. Thanks for all the sites! I have some shopping ahead of me.

Will a 225 fit in a 229 holster?

Maybe, maybe not. It depends on how closely the holster is molded around the trigger guard. The P225's trigger guard is shaped much differently, being more elongated and squared off.

Check out High Noon's various "__ Skin" holsters. Link

I carry with high noon holsters. But i also carry 1911's. Im not sure they would be too different with other types of guns and I would recommend them. I use the bare asset

I just picked up a Don Hume H721 OT.Don Hume Holster

It should be delivered in a few days so I will try it out and let you guys know how it works out for me. I appreciate the help!

I use a Galco SIL248 which I like a lot for my 229. Should fit a 225. Also fits my G17.

I HIGHLY recommend a belt from Beltman.com. A belt that is not stiff enough will allow the holster to flop and sag. Do not underestimate the importance of the belt!

A belt is def. my next gun-related purchase. I now need to save up more "toy funds" though. haha
