sig 229 9mm

Sounds like a fairly decent price to me. I have 2 in .40 S&W. A DAK with the .357 Sig barrel and a SAS. They are awesome guns, mine have always been 100%. Just make sure to get some TW25B grease for the rails.

The 229 in 9mm is my favorite gun. If I could find another for $400.00 I'd buy it.

The slides of all P229s are stainless steel.

Sounds like a great deal to me, and like you said, you really want it. I don't know Sig pistols very well, but it seems like you would be hard pressed to go wrong with one.

I own many Sig's. $400 for a good condition P229 is a good price.

However, if you care about the ability to shoot multiple calibers from one gun then consider looking for the .40SW or .357 Sig. This allows you to swap out the barrel and shoot 3 calibers from the same gun, 9mm, .40SW, and .357 sig. (To enable yo to swap barrels you must start with the larger platform of the .40SW and .357 Sig. The 9mm is too narrow for the lager calibers).

These barrels can be had from several different companies such as "Barsto" but I always picked up the spare barrels used off the various gun forums for about 80-100 dollars.

I have a P229 in .357 and also a .40 barrel. I put Hogue rubber grips on it and they are quite nice. It's a heavy pistol but compact and well balanced. It's one of my favorites!

Carries well in an OWB Galco holster too. Glad you got one!

That gun looks new to me. From the light wear marks on the barrel, it looks like a very low use gun.

That is my dream gun, exactly. Especially without the rails. You're lucky. If they weren't $750 new, I would have gotten one long ago.

As it sits, I'm just trying to find a Sig Pro for $450 and call it good enough, but everyone local is either sold out or has hiked prices, and I'm not going to pay out the arse for a "plastic" substitute for a P229

All this talk about the 229. I'm looking for .40 cal and was hoping to get opinions on which Sig 229 is best. I'm a store owner and looking for a self-defence weapon.

Nice, I also just bought a 229. I got it from a friend for 300.00. the only down side is his polished the slide, so next week it goes to CCR for a rehab.

nice find i am also looking to get a sig p229 .40 for my wife since i have a nickel plated p220 .45 and she likes mine. A cop buddy of mine has 3 p229 all in .40 and he says they have not been shot in atleast 5 years and he will sell me one for 450 with box and 3 clips and i know they are in good shape since he is the same guy i got my 20+ year old p220 from and it looks as if it was new

In reference to the year model, it should be stamped underneath the slide directly under the end of the barrel. For instance, KG.
