Saw this poster at the local movie theater today, and loved the detail of the trigger and the finger on top of the safety:

The Garand has been a well developed character in films ever since the end of WWII, but I've seen it surface twice in less than a year, also in Gran Torino:

I commented to my wife about the M1 when we saw the first clip for Gran Torino. I thought"cool, they went retro". Love those M1Mark.

I'm not sure what to expect from a Tarantino film set during WWII... Might be... weird.

I've seen the trailer for this movie. I think it looks pretty good. I plan on checking it out. Brad Pitt is the main character. There are a decent amount of big names in the movie including Mike Myers which I found to be a strange role for him.

I'm actually really excited about this flick! I watched the original not too long ago and Tarantino seems like the perfect person to do a remake.

If Tarantino wants to retain his style, but appeal to the mainstream audience, violence against Nazis is probably a good move.
