can somebody clue me in on this? i could never understand the reason for doing such a thing. if you want a 22, then buy one, if you want a 9mm, then buy that. but to turn one gun into the other, just does not make much sense to me.
you're able to get practice with all the controls of your full caliber frame and most important the same trigger feel...besides the obvious cost savings and reduced distraction/recoil in shoot .22lr
two discreet pistols i've owned, which had almost identical feel...matched, by design, at the factory...were the S&W M-14 K-38 and theM-17 K-22. as close as they were in weight and balance, the triggers were never quite the same and each had it's own strenghts
not everyone can benefit from training with identical platforms, just as not everyone can benefit from a tuned trigger or a reduced trigger reset...but then there are folks who can see the difference between driving a Toyota Camary and a Lexus IS either
