Anyone know any reasonably priced gun stores in the Denver area?
I know the Firing Line and the Gander Mountains, just want to know anyone that knows any others. Thanks.

Green Mountain Guns, off of Hwy 285 and Wadsworth. I can't say enough good things.

5280 is good people too, but it seems like they are allways closed for a gun show.

Anybody ever been to Roberts firearms out on colfax and tower?
Kind of a funky looking place that's been there forever but I've never been there.
Be aware at 5280 Armory.
They do no returns on anything--guns and ammo I understand but they do no returns on anything they sell.
I have spent several thousand dollars there in the last few years.
Last summer I was in there one day and spent about $800 on some ammo and accessories. One of Matt's salesman talked me into buying a certain stock for my shotgun. Brought it home and installed it--did not like it at all and immediately took it off. Called the store and was told by Matt that it could not be returned--sorry ,too bad and if I don't like it I don't need to buy from him anymore. He also told me the stock I bought was a piece of junk but his salesman had raved about it.
This didn't set well with me. It was a $100 stock that I'm now stuck with and haven't been able to sell.
I haven't been back there since.
I may go in at some point to check out guns or ammo but I will never buy another accessory from him.
As a long time customer I felt ripped off and that the behavior was bad customer service.
Just something to be aware of before you buy there.
Bass Pro is another place to check out--good deals there sometimes.
Firing Line and Green Mountain are both decent places.
There's another place down around 470 and Santa Fe called Prairrie Arms that's supposed to be good but I haven't been there yet.

Don't forget Jensen's, now in Loveland, CO and The Firing Line in Aurora.

Shooters Supply in Ft Collins. Nice store, not much used, nice supply of semi autos new. Short on wheel guns. Little ammo. Nice looking range.
Good cross section of used and new long guns. Great selection of scopes.

I have three stores that I hit regularly. I will rate them for you.

3rd best is Prairie Arms (3809 Norwood Dr Unit 1, Littleton, CO, 303-346-7135). It is where I recieved my NRA (CCW) training. They favor Law Enforcement, but all are welcome. If they don't have it, they can get it.

2nd best is Shootin' Shop South (303-798-6792, 5827 S Rapp St., Littleton, CO 80120). It has a small shop feel. Whenever I am there I run into a few guys who hang out there even if they aren't buying anything. Dave and Scott are good guys and Scott is a very capable gunsmith. They aren't the cheapest in town, but they know my name when I walk throught the door. Customer service wins me over every time.

1st place goes to Green Mountain Guns (303-985-7240, 3355 S Yarrow St Ste 113, Lakewood, CO 80227). They are usually well stocked and they have good service. I was surprised that they have better prices than chain stores. I have purchased half of my collection from them. They clearly have lots of regular customers, because their consignment section is one of the best I have ever seen.

Yea--Green Mountain has a great selection of used guns and their prices are good. I haven't bought anything there yet--I've only been there twice.
I'm gonna be going down there this week though--I haven't bought a gun since before the election and I'm over due for a new one.
Firing Line in Aurora is the one I frequent most--only 2 miles away from me. they used to be a little pricey but due to Sportsmans Warehbouse (now closed), Gander Mountain (really expensive ) and Bass Pro they have dropped their prices considerably and now they seem to have some of the best prices around.
I'll have to check out Gunsport next time I'm up in Boulder. Never been there and really suprised they actually have a GS in Boulder.

Gunsport Colorado (formerly Bighorn Trading Company) will always have a place in my heart, especially since they let a 16 year old gun nut from Boulder High (essentially across the street) fondle the merchandise after school. :D This was key in developing my lifelong interest in firearms!

I've made my last 2 Purchases from Jensen's in Loveland. Great bunch of folks.

I've shopped at Green Mountain before, and at the Firing Line (which can be a tad pricy, though there are often deals in the consignment/used case).

I bought my first handgun from the Firing Line in Aurora. I like the shop. They seemed knowledgeable and reasonably priced. They also let me shoot for free in their in store range with the gun I just bought.

edit:
I know the Firing Line and the Gander Mountains, just want to know anyone that knows any others.
Not sure how I missed that.

My favorites have already been mentioned, but I'll also suggest:

The Gun Room @ 16th & Carr in Lakewood: It's not that big, but has a decent selection of handguns, including used revolvers.

303 Arms

There is a small shop in Denver founded by crew of instructors. A couple of the guys have several years of retail experience working for a well known Denver gun shop. They also have tons of military and competition experience. The shop is approximately I-25 and Colfax. 303arms.com

Definitely Green Mountain Guns and Jensen Arms (though Jensen is in Loveland).

Personally, I'd never buy from 5280 Armory and Gunsmoke.

Most of the Denver area shops have quite a few user reviews available at the Colorado AR 15 site.

And nobody mentioned GunSmoke?? And they have a cool TV show as well.

Bought my Kel Tec P3AT from Robs years back.I dont know if hes still ther, but might give him a try.Great to deal with.
