This is to be an open thread for everyone to share gun-related pics. Collections, rooms, reloading benches, individuals gun pics, etc. Basically anything visual. Have fun. Thanks.

Tip: You can put a short guide rod in 4" pistols. This is my 4" kimber, with a cut down FLGR, or the one out of my AMT.

As you can see, the recoil spring still stays kinda captive when the slide is taken off. You simply pull the spring and GR out towards the back. Recoil spring changes and field strips are much easier and you dont have to worry about your bent paper clip shearing off.

One downside is the open reverse plug:

IMO it just looks goofy. But, that's needed since the guide rod pokes out while cycling.

No effect on reliability, it still runs like a top until about 500 or 600 rounds, were a limp wrist will hang it up. It'll last well beyond 500 rounds if you keep a good grip (I think I went about 1500 before the BOOM ca-CHUCK finally got on my last nerve).

Tip 2: If your 1911 goes BOOM ca-CHUCK, its time for a new recoil spring.
