How do you organize your gun "stuff?"

Well Lex, that may be the best way, but it's not the only way. Some of us need to stretch our funds by being a little redneck. I use all kinds of things that others discarded, but they'll serve my needs for a helluva long time! Looooong time. Just put removable labels on things to ID what's in them.

Lots of shelves. Everything is organized by category. I'm a bit "obsessed" in a good way with keeping my stuff in order at all times.

How you organize depends on how often you need access, and how much stuff there is to organize.

For me, a system of heavy shelves that can support the weight of filled ammunition boxes, shelves that allow stacking of Rubbermaid tubs (the blanket size shown above are good), desplay of stuff you are using, and in cabinets hung on the walls. Label stuff so you can find it. How detailed the labeling depends on the volume of material to be organized and the diversity.

Storage of a couple bricks of 22 ammunition is one thing, but storage of 1000 bricks is an entirely different animal. Same goes with magazines, reloading supplies, parts, and it depends how frequently you need access to the stored materials.

Pay attention to humidity and water issues in a basement. I recommend a separate HVAC system for that space that allows you to maintain as much control as possible of temperature, air flow and humidity of that space. Consider ventilation issues when using chemicals.

I am fortunate. I have a 20x12 man cave with plenty of shelving and bench space for my loading equipment, supplies and other gun related "stuff". Even so, plenty of it still finds its way in the house on the bar and table.

Clean and organized is the only way.

I cannot imagine using old file cabinets, tupperware and coffee cans to maintain parts and supplies, but the proper collection of benches and toolboxes would be the minimum acceptable. Perhaps even a quarterly inventory to ensure supply levels are adequate.
Are you serious?

I've got one room for all my stuff. Exercise equipment. Five guitars and associated gear (amp, pedals, etc). Gun safe, reloading gear, hunting gear. Crossbow and gear.

I even built floor to ceiling/wall to wall shelves. But there's still too much stuff that doesn't want to be organized.

The room is too small. Organization is a problem. I actually wouldn't even go so far as to say it's "organized." It's more like "accumulated in a central location."
