Has anyone has problems with the ejector ripping through the rim of the casing upon trying to eject a round on Polish build AK-74. I have a batch of 1983 Russian made ammo, and before I open a new case to see if there is any difference, I would like to know if anyone else has had this problem. The ejector rips through the casing head leaving the casing in the chamber. I have to beat it out with a cleaning rod. It does take a little effort to knock it out, but not over hard to get out. So do you think it is the ammo? The ejector, or is the rounds expanding in the chamber and wont dislodge with the the normal ejector pull? Any thoughts?

try a different ammo

sounds like the casing is expanding when bullet is fired,if its still doing it then take a wire bore brush, solvent, and put the bore brush (prefferebly 20ga shotgun brush)and put it in cordless drill and clean the casing chamber of barrel.then try shooting again

gas piston problem? maybe its old or worn out/ bad part not pushing hard enough to eject
If it rips off part of the case head, I don't think it is the piston...there is more than enough "push".

8mm Brass bore brush fits excellent in the chamber of the 74. I had a problem like this with my tantal, a couple trips to the range, along with cleaning the hell out of my chamber(not the bore) with the 8mm brass bore brush. Rifle fires like a champ now and has not jammed once.

Using proper terms reduces confusion.

As has been posted, you need to clean the heck out of your chamber.
