Remington super cell recoil pad

There was a thread a while back on them, and the reviews were generally positive. I have one on an 870 I bought not long ago... but I haven't been able to test it out yet. Feels like it's going to be a very good pad though, and it's not tacky/sticky like many are. Nice and smooth.

I put one on my trap gun and I've been very happy with it. I shoot about 100 shells once a week, and I've yet to go home sore or bruised. My only complaint is that it doesn't perfectly fit the stock, it's a little too tall and a little too skinny. I bought the gun used though, so I don't know how old it is, Remington might have changed stocks slightly since so yours might fit better.

I have one on each of my three 870's (two 12ga and one 20 ga) and one on my Remington 700 .30-06, and I think it works great. It really reduced the felt recoil a lot.

As for the fit of the pad to the stock- 3 of my guns have the older version stocks on them and they are a little tall and skinny as the other person mentioned... the one I have with the newer style stock seemed to fit better but still not 100% perfect, but I can handle that since it saves a bunch of wear and tear on my shoulder.

Be careful on what type you order though- they have 4 SuperCell pads. Shotgun with wood stock, shotgun with synthetic, rifle with wood and rifle with synthetic. I've seen reviews on some sites saying that the pad didn't fit at all... not sure if they bought the wrong one for their stock or what happened, but all of mine fit- just not 100% flush.

I've never shot mine without it so I have nothing to compare it to but when I shoot birdshot, I don't even notice the recoil. Works as advertised.

Thanks for the responses ,guys. The recoil pad would go on my mid 70's 870 Wingmaster. 50 year old shoulders dont take the abuse like they used to,LOL. At 20 bucks I guess you cant go wrong,so I'll order one.I'll let you know what I think.

I have on my 870. It's a great recoil pad but honestly it's no better than the ones on my 590's and nowhere near a Limbsaver in my opinion. I LOVE Limbsaver.
